Overview
The Blocklists is where you deal with recipients who aren’t receiving your messages because of a delivery problem on their end. Email addresses that bounce or get marked as spam are automatically suppressed so Congregate stops trying them; phone numbers that repeatedly fail are recorded so you can see what’s going wrong. Two tabs divide the page: Email Messaging and Text Messaging.
Email Messaging Tab
This tab lets you clear an email address off the suppression list so Congregate will try sending to it again.
When an email bounces or a recipient marks it as spam, that address is added to a suppression list and future emails to it won’t be delivered. This is often why a member reports never getting your emails. Once the underlying problem is fixed, you can remove the address here.
- Email Address(es): type an address and press Enter or a comma to add it; add as many as you need.
- Remove from Suppression List button: submits the addresses. It stays disabled until you’ve entered at least one valid address.
After you submit, the page reports the result in two colored panels: a green Successfully removed list and, if any couldn’t be cleared, a red Failed to remove list showing each address alongside the reason. Removed addresses can start receiving your emails again.
Text Messaging Tab
This tab is a read-only record of text messages that failed to deliver over the last 90 days, so you can see which numbers are having trouble and why. Unlike the email tab, there’s nothing to remove here; it’s for reference.
Each row shows:
- Timestamp: when the message failed.
- Recipient: the phone number.
- Error Code: a color-coded code from the messaging service identifying the type of failure.
- Meaning: a plain-language explanation of that code (for example, a number that can’t receive texts, or one that has opted out).
