File Management and Sharing
Upload it once and everyone knows where to find it.

Folders, not email attachments.
Every congregation accumulates documents: study guides, forms, budgets, etc. that nobody can find. Congregate gives them a filing cabinet on your own website, organized in folders you create and name yourself.
Uploading is a drag and drop onto the file manager, single files or many at once. Each file shows its name, size, and the date it was last modified, so you can tell at a glance which version of something is the current one. Folders can be nested as deeply as your organization requires, or kept flat if that suits you better.
The important part is that the file lives at a stable address. Once something is uploaded, you can link to it from an article, a calendar event, an email, or a page on your site, and that link keeps working. You are not re-attaching the same PDF to a new email every few months.
Public files and member-only or leadership-only files, kept apart.
Shared files are available to your members when they log in, which covers most of what a congregation stores. Public files are reachable by anyone, which is right for a form a visitor might need or a document you want indexed by search engines. Leadership files are only reachable by those who have permission.
Files uploaded here are available throughout Congregate, so an image placed in the file manager can be used elsewhere on the platform.

Who This Feature Helps
Members
One place to look. A study guide from three months ago is still where it was, rather than buried in an email thread.
Leaders
Documents stop being re-sent. You send a link once and it stays correct when the file behind it is updated.
Visitors
Public documents are downloadable without an account or a request.
